Summer is in full effect and Iowans around the state have been enjoying leaving their house and going out and doing things. Whether it's going on a walk, playing a round of golf, going to a county fair, or enjoying a bike ride, Iowa is in full force "summer mode." One of the highlights of the summer, in the state of Iowa, is the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, most commonly referred to as RAGBRAI.

This year RAGBRAI will take place from July 22 through July 29 as bike riders travel across the state, stopping from town to town. For a complete route of RAGBRAI 2023, you can visit RAGBRAI.

Other than the race itself, Iowans across the state will also be able to enjoy the RAGBRAI concert series. It has been announced that a major rock band will be headlining the show taking place in Coralville, Iowa.

According to RAGBRAI Concert Series, this year's line-up "celebrates the ride's golden anniversary with nostalgia bands from the past five decades." Even better news for anyone who would like to attend these shows, they are free and open to the public.

If concert go-ers would like a bit of an upgraded experience, VIP tickets are available. The VIP tickets will include access to a private restroom, beer garden, drink tickets, air conditions suites, charging stations, and shaded seating.

On Friday, July 28th, the rock band Bush will be performing in Coralville. Bush has a discography of some of the biggest albums made in the 90s. "Sixteen Stone" came out in 1994 and was a 6x platinum seller. In 1996, Bush's album "Razorblade Suitcase" was a triple-platinum seller, and in 1999 "The Science Of Things" went platinum.

Bush has dominated rock radio stations for decades and they continue to play sold-out shows around the world. The song "Glycerine" was released in 1994 and has been viewed 73 million times on YouTube.

How awesome is this? One of the biggest rock bands of the 90s will be making a stop in eastern Iowa and anyone who would like to go see the show can do so for free. My favorite ticket price is $0.

Bush will take the stage with special guest PLUSH, a band composed of women who want to bring rock music to the forefront of the music industry, according to Ventures Endurance. PLUSH has opened for Kiss, Alice in Chains, and Evanescence. Bush will headline the main stage at ST Morrison Park.

Carrie Bopp is the Coralville RAGRAI Entertainment Chair, and she told KCRG the free entertainment this year is outstanding.

The amount of free quality entertainment we’ll have performing in Coralville at RAGBRAI is outstanding. This will be a festival enjoyed by locals and riders alike!
