According to former Dio guitarist Craig Goldy, fans could soon be treated to a song he and Ronnie James Dio were working on prior to Dio's death.

Goldy opened up about the track during a recent appearance on the Talking Metal podcast, which you can listen to below. "Me and Ronnie were writing before he passed," explained Goldy. "That was one of the most proudest and saddest moments of my life."

After Dio received the go-ahead to return to work from his doctor, Goldy said the singer spoke with his wife, who asked him what he wanted to do. "Ronnie looked at Wendy and said ‘write with Craig.' So we started writing," recalled Goldy. "There is one song that hasn’t been released yet and we’re getting ready to do that."

Until then, Dio fans have a couple of other band-related projects to pass the time. Goldy's new band Resurrection Kings, who released their self-titled debut LP in late January, reunites him with fellow Dio vet Vinny Appice alongside ex-Lynch Mob singer Chas West and former Dokken bassist Sean McNabb. Appice is also part of Last in Line, which brought him together with his fellow former Dio members Jimmy Bain and Vivian Campbell.

Last in Line's debut, Heavy Crown, is due Feb. 19, and sadly arrives after the surprising passing of Bain, who died Jan. 23 after succumbing to an undiagnosed lung cancer. The band has released a pair of tracks from the album early in honor of Bain, which you can listen to now.
