A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle near the University of Northern Iowa campus in Cedar Falls.

Police said they determined, through an initial investigation, that the pedestrian ran out in front of the moving vehicle in the College Hill business district. The accident happened around 11 PM Thursday in the 2200 block of College Street.

According to authorities, the pedestrian suffered unknown injuries. The victim was taken to a Waterloo hospital for treatment.

Police didn't immediately release the names of those involved in the accident.
