UPDATE: Victim Identified In Fatal Waterloo Shooting

A fatal shooting is under investigation in Waterloo.

The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. Saturday (June 3, 2017). Police said they were called to a home at 717 Hope Ave. on a report that someone had been shot. Investigators confirmed one person was wounded.

According to police, the victim was transported to UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, where the victim was later pronounced dead. Authorities later identified the victim as Mikaela Bond, 22.

The overnight shooting remains under investigation. Waterloo police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call them at 319-291-4340.
