Check out some beautiful Christmas lights on the banks of the Cedar River this month! Five Seasons Lights is now open in Cedar Rapids!

Five Seasons Lights is a new holiday light display located at the McGrath Amphitheatre near Downtown Cedar Rapids. The official website reads:

"Stroll through an enchanting wonderland of holiday lights while enjoying local music, making memories and so much more! Don’t miss Cedar Rapids’ holiday glow up on the banks of the Cedar River!"

Unlike some of the other light displays in the area, Five Seasons Lights is FREE. It's also a walk-through display instead of a drive-thru. It officially opened on Friday, December 1st and will remain open until New Year's Eve.

There are a few things you should know before you visit Five Seasons Lights. First of all, the event happens "rain, snow, or shine." Be sure to dress for the weather! It's also important to note that there are NO motorized vehicles allowed, and bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, and scooters will also not be permitted. And finally, Five Seasons Lights is cashless. There is a stand called Santa's Cafe where you can buy snacks and warm beverages from Thursday through Sunday, but you will need a card for those purchases.

Speaking of cash, guests at Five Seasons Lights are welcome to make a free-will donation to one of the amazing non-profit organizations that have partnered with the event. That includes Four OaksASAC, Cedar Valley Habitat For Humanity, and more.

Five Seasons Lights is open Sundays through Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays & Saturdays from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. There is live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, and Santa will be visiting on Saturdays before Christmas from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. If you aren't able to visit when Santa is present, your children can mail their letters to Santa in the mailbox located right next to his workshop!
