NE Iowan Accidentally Cuts Off Hand

A young Northeast Iowa man is recovering in the hospital, after accidentally cutting off his hand in a construction accident.

The accident happened shortly after 11am Saturday at a construction site in the 400 block of Water Street in Decorah. 18 year old Kennedy Folkedahl was using a power tool when he accidentally severed his hand.

After receiving the 911 call, Winneshiek County medical workers rushed Folkedahl to the Decorah hospital; he was then airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Folkedahl is reportedly in fair condition.
