Wear These Colors in Iowa ONLY If You Want to Get Eaten Alive by Mosquitos
Summer is all fun and games until you get nipped by a mosquito!
According to reports, there are fifty-seven species of mosquitos in the Hawkeye State.
We are in the middle of peak mosquito season. Officials confirm that May to October is the height of it here in Iowa.

So, if you plan on going camping this summer or want to take a walk by the Cedar River in the next few months, make sure to lather up the mosquito repellent or just avoid wearing certain colors.
For the next week or two in Iowa, the mosquito level will be at a medium to moderate level, according to reports.
What Colors Should You Avoid?
One of the most common of the mosquito species reportedly flies towards the following colors:
- Red
- Orange
- Black
- Cyan
If you are like me and aren't too sure what exactly cyan is, it's aquamarine or a sort of blue green.
So, does this have you reassessing your summer wardrobe like me?
I have absolutely no clue what I'll be able to wear this summer!
Other Ways to Avoid Mosquitos
If you're looking for other ways to make sure that you don't get bitten by mosquitos, here are some helpful tips for you.
- Get rid of any standing water near your home
