A man from Blossvale man accused of stealing a U-Haul was arrested after his attempt to hide it's true identity failed him.

Austin O. Weismore, 25, took the U-Haul van from Florida to New York in March, but police say he never returned it to the company after he got there. The U-Haul van location in Florida reported the vehicle stolen.

On Wednesday, officers found the van in Vienna, New York.

Part of the van was black from spray paint, covering all of the logos on the sides of the van. His fatal mistake was not covering the giant U-Haul logo on the top of the windshield.

He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, criminal mischief and grand larceny, all of which are felony charges.

Weismore is awaiting arraignment at the Oneida County Jail.
