Louisiana Police use ‘Purge’ Siren to Signal Curfew (video)
In 2013, The Purge showed what it would look like if there was one night every year where people were allowed to commit basically whatever crime they wanted to.
In the movie, citizens get a warning that The Purge is starting when a siren blares throughout the country.
In Crowley, Louisiana, police used the same siren to announce the start of their 9:00 curfew. Some residents weren’t exactly thrilled that they used the same siren from The Purge movies.
According to KATC, the police chief said he was unaware the siren picked by the department was the same one used in the movie and that officers will no longer be using any type of sound at the time when curfew begins.
The police department received over 500 complaints about the Purge Siren.
