Local Men Arrested in Separate Incidents in Oelwein

A local man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant concerning a drug charge

Just after 3pm Tuesday (April 18) Oelwein Police arrested 27 year old Matthew Carter of Oelwein during a traffic stop in the 200 block of 7th Street SE.

Carter was wanted on a Fayette County warrant for Failure to Appear; the original charge was Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana.

Oelwein Police have arrested a local teen in an assault case.

Just before 1:30pm Tuesday, 19 year old Jonathan Offerman of Oelwein was taken into custody following an incident in the 400 block of South Frederick.

Offerman was charged with Assault-Simple Misdemeanor.
