A young motorist faces charges for rolling a vehicle into a ditch, just west of Arlington.

A Fayette County deputy had found the accident scene at about 1:15am Thursday (Aug. 12), at the intersection of 90th Street and Forest Road.

The driver of a van, a male juvenile whose name was not released, was apparently driving too fast when he tried to turn onto the gravel road. The vehicle went out of control and rolled into the ditch.

There were 3 other juveniles in the vehicle at the time, but only the driver was taken by Arlington ambulance to Mercy One Hospital in Oelwein for treatment. The others were not hurt.

Since all of the occupants of the van were juveniles, no names are being released.

The driver was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.
The 2005 Ford van was totaled.
The Arlington Fire and Ambulance Service assisted the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
