Jesup Man Gets 10-Year Prison Term For Sexual Contact With Child

A former Jesup man will be spending his next 10 years in prison, for allegedly having sexual contact with a child.

Benjamin Steinbron, 39, had pleaded guilty on June 18 to charges of indecent contact with a child (aggravated misdemeanor) and lascious acts with a child (felony).

On Tuesday, Steinbron was sentenced in Buchanan County District Court to serve up to 10 years in prison.

After serving his prison term, Steinbron will be put on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry, remain under supervision for the rest of his life, and undergo sex offender treatment.
