Plane Crashes After Leaving Waterloo Airport

On Tuesday evening, a plane coming from the Cedar Valley airport had to make an emergency landing in Arkansas. There were seven people on board this flight: two flight crew members and five passengers. Two of these people were injured following the crash.

The plane departed the Waterloo Regional Airport at 5:57 PM on Tuesday, November 29th, according to reports. It landed in Batesville, Arkansas just over an hour later at 7:10 PM. When landing, it drove into a fence at the end of the runway, according to the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier.

Reports claim that two people on the plane were left injured after the crash. There is no word on the conditions of these individuals. A story from KWWL cites the plane's landing gear malfunctioning as the reason for the incident.

The Waterloo Regional Airport's commercial flights are directed to O'Hare in Chicago. This incident involved a private plane owned by Michigan Cat Aviation. It is a 2007 twin engine corporate Learjet 45, according to reports.

No one on the ground was injured from the crash.
