I don't want to jinx anything for any Iowan who is cheering for one of the 4 teams in the NFC North but...is the NFC North the best division in football right now?!

If you're a fan of one of the "black and blue division teams," did you know that this is the only division in the NFL where every team has a winning record heading into week 7? Surprisingly, the Minnesota Vikings sit on top in the NFC North with a record of 5-0. The Detroit Lions, who many fans predicted would be pretty good this year, are 4-1. The Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears are both 4-2.

The NFC North is up for grabs for all 4 teams right now and unless one of these 4 teams falls off a cliff, it will be a fight until the end of the year for the division.

What Team Does Iowa Cheer For?

When I first moved to Iowa 2 and half years ago, one of the first questions I asked my boss was "What NFL team does Iowa cheer for?" In my opinion, one of the coolest things about living in a state without a professional football team is the giant melting pot of different fans you'll find in Iowa.

Sure, you'll find plenty of Vikings, Packers, and Bears fans but I've also found diehard Cowboy fans, Saints fans, Eagles fans, 49ers fans, and Kansas City Chiefs fans. Personally, I think it's a lot of fun meeting and talking to fans of different teams and learning their stories on why they cheer for certain teams. I have a buddy who lives in Iowa but is from North Dakota and he's a die-hard Bengals fan.

The Iowa Chill social media team has put together a graphic that wants to know which team are Iowans cheering for. Do you think these findings have changed with all 4 NFC North teams playing well to start this season? Are more people paying attention to the NFC North in Iowa this season? Do you think there are more Chiefs fans since they've become an NFL juggernaut?

If this graphic is correct, the state is about 50% Vikings fans, 30% Chicago Bears fans, 20% Green Bay Packers fans, and 20% Chiefs fans.

I would've guessed there were way more Packer fans than this in Iowa before I saw the graphic.
