Walker has been convicted of the murder of Michael Valentine as well as "going armed with intent and being a felon in possession of a firearm."

Opening statements for the trial began on Monday, November 14th and wrapped up on Thursday, November 17th. According to reports, once all was said and done with both side's closing statements, the jury returned with a verdict in just about 90 minutes.

Over the course of the trial, the defense claimed that the 29-year-old man acted in self-defense. Videos show that Walker shot Valentine seven times AND the prosecution said that the victim was weaponless.

As reported in the Gazette, after the conviction was read out, people claimed to see him smiling and "almost laughing." He continued laughing after the jury was dismissed.

His sentencing date is set for December 16th. He is facing life in prison with no parole. We will continue to keep you updated as this story concludes.

Another man involved in the shooting that took place that evening also has been charged. Timothy Rush has been charged with two counts of second degree-murder, according to KCRG.
