Iowa City Freshman Hits a 6 Million-to-1 Golf Shot [VIDEO]

Jack Jensen-Fitzpatrick is a Freshman at Iowa City West and early on in his high school golf career, he made a memory that will last a lifetime. According to KCRG, he was playing in his first ever high school golf meet at the Airport National Golf Course and accomplished something that happens about one out of 6 million times.

Jack shot a hole-in-one on the 21st hole of the tournament.  A hole-in-one alone is impressive. Some golfers play the game their entire lives and never hit a hole-in-one. Jack not only got a hole-in-one but he got it on a par 4. It's a shorter par 4 at 233 yards but it still takes one heck of a golf shot to get it there. A hole-in-one on a par 4 can also be referred to as an "Albatross" and it is one of the rarest occurrences in golf.

According to CDC, your odds of being struck by lightning are about one in a million. Well, it's pretty crazy to think your odds of being struck by lightning are better than hitting a hole-in-one on a par 4.

Not only is the shot impressive but this was Jack's first-ever high school golf tournament. Talk about a great shot to help calm the nerves down a little bit. Jack told KCRG he didn't start off exactly how he wanted to but admits he hit a pretty good shot. Jack was +2 through 2 holes and then it was time for the fireworks.

 “I will take it but I would’ve liked to of done better. Then I came up and hit a great shot.

He admitted to KCRG that he didn't even see it go in the hole. It wasn't until he got up to the green that he realized the ball was in the cup.

I saw it in the hole and I was like no way. I screamed it and I think everyone heard it. I thought I was dreaming.

I've always thought this tradition was pretty strange but normally in golf you buy a round of beers for the clubhouse when your round is over if you make a hole in one... shouldn't they buy you beers? I've never really understood that.

Jack celebrated by buying root beers for his team and for the other team, and told KCRG "it will be a day I never forget."
