We've been keeping you updated about the case of Iowa teen Pieper Lewis. Lewis, a victim of sex-trafficking, was convicted of killing her rapist earlier this year, we reported.

In court, she disclosed that she ran away from her abusive home environment and was soon taken in by a man who allegedly sex trafficked her. She claims he forced her into having sex with other men for money.

Lewis claimed that the man she stabbed to death when she was 15 was one of those men. She was forced by the man who initially took her in (we still do not know his name) to go to 37-year-old Zachary Brooks' home, according to reports.

Lewis told the court that she was forced to drink heavy liquor and fell asleep at the home. She awoke to Brooks assaulting her, and once he fell asleep, she stabbed him, Lewis claimed in her plea agreement.

She pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and willful injury. She has to pay Brooks' family a restitution fee of $150,000. Luckily, as we previously reported GoFundMe was set up to assist in covering the cost of this fee.  The judge ruled that this plea could be expunged upon completion of her probation in a residential correctional facility.

Earlier this month, we reported that Lewis actually cut off her electronic monitoring and walked away from the Des Moines correctional facility. A warrant was issued for her arrest. Less than 72 hours later, she was back in custody.

Now, she's returning to court on Friday, November 18th. The incident has her facing a possible misdemeanor charge for cutting off the ankle monitor and escaping, according to reports.

Earlier this year, the Polk County judge said she could face 20 years in prison for violating the terms of her probation.

We will continue to keep you updated as the story develops.
