Don’t Put The Shovels Away Yet, Possible Snow In Eastern Iowa This Weekend

Now that spring has officially arrived, as March 20th is the first day of spring, we're gearing up for warmer weather. It's time to put the snowblowers away, throw the shovels in the shed, and start warming up the lawnmowers. Right? Not quite. While the weather has been pretty nice in Iowa for much of this week, it's likely we see a little more of winter this weekend than we'd like to.

I don't know about you but I haven't had to wear a jacket to work on my morning commute. It's been pretty nice not having to check the temperature before I leave the house in the early parts of the morning. As long as it's been in the 30s, I'm going jacket free. I haven't busted out the crocs and sandals just yet but hopefully, they make an appearance soon. Sadly, those items will likely have to wait until this weekend passes.

I spoke with Kaj O'Mara at KCRG and it appears as if we could see some white fluffy stuff later on Friday (3-24) and/or early on Saturday (3-25).

According to the KCRG, Friday (3-24) night will start with some rain, which will turn into snow overnight. With most of this occurring in the evening and early morning hours, it is possible much of eastern Iowa could receive several inches of snow.

I haven't quite put the driveway and walkway salt away yet and my shovels are still in easy access spots in the garage but I sure am ready for this wintery vibe to be in the rearview mirror.

Who am I kidding...it's Iowa. If you don't like the weather, wait 10 hours, and it'll totally change. KCRG reports the snow should end around noon on Saturday. Hopefully, *fingers crossed* you won't have to shovel and it will all be melted off your walkways and driveways by the end of Saturday.
