Caitlin Clark Unanimously Named Rookie of the Year
Was there any doubt that anyone else could clinch this title?
The former University of Iowa basketball star has become a Bonafide superstar in the WNBA.
Caitlin Clark was drafted first overall in the 2024 WNBA draft after wrapping up a record-breaking college career. She was picked up by the Indiana Fever.
To be quite honest, the Fever had a rough first half of the season. After Clark was looked over for a spot on the Olympic women's basketball team, something switched for the West Des Moines native.
Caitlin was one of only two rookies to be named a WNBA All-Star this season. This team of All-Stars actually went toe to toe against the Olympic roster and came out victorious.
She also set a few records during the season...
Caitlin Clark broke the following records in her rookie season:
- WNBA single-season record for assists by a rookie
- Most assists in a single-season (337)
- Most Assists by a Rookie
- Fastest player to reach 400 points and 200 assists (26 games)
- Most Free Throws Made by a Rookie: (232)
- First rookie to record a triple-double in league history
- Most points in a rookie season (769)
In addition, she's been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week three times this season, according to reports.
Caitlin Clark is now able to add yet another history making accomplishment to her list of accolades.
