Former Iowa Hawkeye Caitlin Clark's rookie season in the WNBA might be over, but the praise for her performance this past year continues on.

The West Des Moines native helped take the Indiana Fever to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

During the first round of the playoffs all of the qualifying eight teams participated in a best of three game series.

Indiana was paired off with #3 seed Connecticut Sun during this first round series.

Unfortunately, the young team were burnt by the Sun.

Clark and the Fever lost 69 to 83 during the first game and 81 to 87 in the second.

Now, they are all officially out of the playoffs and their season is over.

Here are just SOME of the things Clark has done in her first year in the league:

  • Drafted #1 overall to the Indiana Fever
  • All-Star starter
  • Four times WNBA Rookie of the Month
  • Three times Eastern Conference Player of the Week
  • Most points by a rookie
  • Most assists by a rookie
  • Fastest player to score 500 points and get 200 assists
  • Associated Press WNBA Rookie of the Year

Now, she can add yet another accomplishment to this incredible list.

On Wednesday, October 16th the roster for the All-WNBA First Team was announced, and Caitlin's name was on it.

For those of us who have followed Clark throughout her college career and into the WNBA, it's honestly not that much of a surprise.

She is the only rookie on this season's All-WNBA First Team, and the eighth rookie in program history to make the roster. The last rookie to receive this honor was Candace Parker back in 2008, according to reports.

The four other players to make the team are Napheesa Collier (Minnesota Lynx), A'ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces), Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty), and Alyssa Thomas (Connecticut Sun).

What Does It Mean To Make the All-WNBA First Team?

Being selected for this prestigious team is a major honor for any player.

However, one of the big perks is the financial bonus that each of these women get. If a player makes the All-WNBA First Team she will receive $10,300. Those that make the Second Team will get $5,150, according to CBS.
