
FDA Recalls Popular Bread in Illinois and Wisconsin Over Nut Allergy Risk
If you just bought some bread at Walmart or Kroger today, a loaf of the stuff sold in Illinois and Wisconsin is being recalled because it contains hazelnuts that weren't labeled, and it could be a big problem for people who have tree nut allergies.
Lewis Bake Shop Bread Recall Linked to Mislabeled Ingredients
The FDA says the recall involves a "Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf" that is sold by Hartford Bakery, which may actually contain visible hazelnuts in the affected lot codes. The issue here is that hazelnuts aren't listed as an ingredient, even though the label does give some kind of vague "may contain tree nuts" disclaimer.

Affected States and How to Identify the Recalled Bread
The bread was haphazardly sold across 12 different states in America, including here in the Land of Lincoln, and it carries these lot codes T10 01740101206 through T10 174020406.
You can also look for the expiration date of July 13, 2025, and UPC 241 126018152.

No Illnesses Yet, But Refunds Offered for Recalled Bread
The good news is that so far, there have been zero illnesses reported, but if you or someone in your house has a nut allergy, don't even try to risk it. Customers are being asked to return the bread to the store where they purchased it for a full refund.
Bread Recall Affects Under 1,000 Loaves Nationwide
There have been fewer than 1000 loaves involved in the refund, but if this bread recall has you double-checking your pantry, just wait until you see some of the biggest product recalls in recent history.
