My wife's company was kind enough to purchase a package that provided us with some delicious grub and a ticket for the Hawkeye game Vs the Troy Trojans, this past Saturday.   The view from the rooftop of the Courtyard by Marriott was nice.

The food was good, the company we were keeping was great, the drinks were flowing and the music was excellent.

When I found out my wife and I had tickets to the game, I checked the photography policy, and the gear I wanted to bring was not allowed.  I checked with our company to find out if we had any inroads with the Hawkeyes to see if I could get a press pass.  My supervisor, Johnny, suggested I just ask them and see if it was possible.  I did just that, thanks Johnny, and the Hawkeyes were kind enough to extend a press pass for the game on September 14, 2024.

I received a packet of information and reviewed it like it was a final exam.  I was nervous and got a bit turned around inside the stadium and everyone was super friendly but not a lot of people knew where to go for press anything.  I took this next picture while trying to find the door to the field.  It was right behind me.  Once I found the correct door, leading to the field, it was on.

The next few shots were random.  The bomb-sniffing dog checking out the Trojan's big rig.

The sideline man walked in front of the shot which didn't happen often.

The referees need a lesson in staying out of the shot.  Seriously referees could you stop getting in the way?  That's a crisp stripe though.

Some of the families that have been helped at Stead Family Children's Hospital were recognized during a break in the game.

And then a picture on the way out of the water tower that sits between the hospital and stadium and that completed a fine day.  The Hawkeyes won the game 38 to 21, go Hawks!
