Iowans Introduce Us to Their Adorable Pups on National Dog Day [GALLERY]

Happy National Dog Day 2025! Let us introduce you to some super cute pups here in Iowa!

Tater Tot

I adopted my dog Tater from Last Hope Animal Rescue in Cedar Rapids back at the start of the pandemic in 2020. He was almost three-years-old at the time, so he had a very well-established personality already when I got him. Here are a few fun facts about my little weirdo:

• His lips get stuck on his teeth all the time - we refer to the phenomenon as his "snaggletoofs"
• He HATES seeing animals on TV - if he spots anything that even resembles an animal, he will bark and whine at the TV (he also hates people riding bikes for some reason, too)
• He's obsessed with socks - he will literally sit by your feet and wait for you to take them off and give them to him (he prefers when you ball them up first)
• He doesn't know how to do a normal yawn, only SCREAM yawns
• He doesn't understand personal space - he will lay directly on your chest until his nose is almost touching your face
