You want to go 'viral' in the Midwest in early spring? Just post your impressive haul after a day of morel mushroom hunting! It also helps when one of the mushrooms is bigger than your head.

Stories about morel mushrooms are a lot like stories about that huge fish that you didn't quite land. It doesn't mean anything unless you can produce photographic evidence of your haul! And lucky for us, this story of mushroom madness has a picture that will make morel lovers go nuts!

Where Were These Giant Morels Found?

According to the Facebook group Morel Mushroom Reports, Jeremiah Wixson posted a photo showing a morel mushroom haul unlike any other. No good morel hunter will reveal the specific spot where the mushrooms were found, of course. Wixson stated in the post that they were found along a fenceline somewhere in Central Missouri. Get ready to see some morel madness!

Are GIANT Morel Mushrooms Still Good to Eat?

Make no mistake, the morels in this photo are NOT normal. Most don't ever exceed 4 inches, according to Yahoo. And bigger isn't always better when it comes to morels. Experts say that large mushrooms can become buggy and over-ripe. Yahoo reports that many believe they're still very edible, they just take a little longer to clean and prepare.

No matter how they taste, those morels are record-book worthy!
