The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is back, and it's bringing a whole lot of holiday cheer to Iowa! This spectacular train, which stretches an impressive 1,000 feet and is decked out in twinkling LED lights and festive decorations, will be making some special stops across the state.

At each stop, you'll get to enjoy a free concert with performances from American Authors and KT Tunstall, along with a brief (but heartwarming) ceremony where food donations are made to local food banks.

It's all about spreading holiday joy—and helping those in need—so be sure to bring a non-perishable food item or a donation if you can.

  • Thursday, November 28:

Ottumwa: 10:00 a.m. (event from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m.) at the CPKC station, 1300 Wildwood Drive, right across from Kohl’s.

The train stays for about 30 minutes at each stop, so it’s a quick but festive stop! If you can’t make it to one of the official stops, don’t fret—you can still see the train as it passes through the state.

Since the CPKC Holiday Train hit the tracks in 1999, it’s raised over $24.3 million and hauled in a whopping 5.3 million pounds of food. And the best part? Every single penny and pound goes straight to local food banks in communities across Canada and the U.S. It’s like Santa's sleigh, but instead of toys, it's full of donations that help feed people in need. Talk about a feel-good holiday tradition!

Every single donation stays right in the community to help people who need it most. It’s a cause that really spreads holiday cheer and makes a big difference.
