Back in March of this year, it was revealed that a fast-growing restaurant chain would be expanding into the state of Iowa. The Cedar Rapids Gazette reported that Dave's Hot Chicken was planning to open five locations in the Hawkeye State, three of which will be in Eastern Iowa. We're happy to report that the first of those three is set to open next month!

A new article from the Quad Cities Times says that the first Dave's Hot Chicken in Iowa will begin welcoming customers on Friday, November 8th. It's located at 3022 E. 53rd Street in Davenport in the former PepperJax Grill. The official website says the eatery will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The menu at Dave's Hot Chicken is actually pretty simple. There are chicken tenders, sliders, and Dave's Bites, all of which come with your choice of sauce. According to an article from the Des Moines Register:

"Dave’s features seven spice levels ranging from No Spice to Reaper, which requires a signed waiver for those who dare."

Sides include fries, cheese fries, mac & cheese, and kale slaw, and the menu also features a variety of Loaded Shakes and Slushers.

There are still four other Dave's Hot Chicken locations planned for Iowa, including two in the Des Moines area, one in Cedar Rapids, and one in Coralville. We don't know exactly where or when each one is set to open, but an earlier article from the Gazette said that "openings across all target Iowa markets could take three to four years."
