B-Bops, a Des Moines-based fast food burger chain has announced they are opening a Cedar Rapids location in 2025!

B-Bops got its start in Des Moines back in 1988. In fact, yesterday marked 36 years of B-Bops burgers in central Iowa. The restaurant chain is known for its amazing burgers, fries, and shakes. Plus, the interior of a B-Bops reminds you of a classic diner straight out of the 1950s. And the double drive-thru means no one waits too long for their order!

Let's talk about burgers, shall we? B-Bop's menu features burgers ranging from a quarter pound all the way up to 3/4 pound. You can get singles, doubles, cheese, bacon, you name it! But don't sleep on the tenderloin. It continues to be one of B-Bop's most popular items. But if you're REALLY hungry, stop into B-Bops and try the Belly Buster Challenge! You have 30 minutes to eat;

  • 4 double bacon cheeseburgers with all the toppings
  • 2 large fries
  • 1 large chocolate shake
  • 1 large soft drink
  • One 2-ounce shot of ranch. (Must be done last)

Just how great is the food? B-Bops has continually won the best burgers and fries in Des Moines in the annual Community Choice Awards. And next year, you'll be able to enjoy the award-winning food in Cedar Rapids! KCRG reports that B-Bops broke ground on its Cedar Rapids restaurant yesterday! It will be located near the intersection of Blairs Ferry Road and Edgewood Road near Fleet Farm.

B-Bops currently has 12 locations including four in Des Moines, Windsor Heights, Urbandale, Altoona, Ankeny, Waukee, Grimes, and two in Ames. B-Bops used to have a Cedar Rapids location near Westdale Mall, but closed the store in 2000.
