If you are one of the thousands of people planning on attending this summer's Great Jones County Fair in Monticello, there is something you should know before taking in this year's fair. The Great Jones County Fair is following in the footsteps of other large venues and changing one of its policies.

The 'Five Best Days of Summer' are finally here! The Great Jones County Fair in Monticello starts Wednesday and runs through Sunday. This year's entertainment lineup is once again, amazing! The lone night of country music this year is Saturday, July 22nd when KHAK welcomes Russell Dickerson and Jon Pardi!

The other concerts at this year's fair include Shinedown, Pitbull, and We The Kingdom! The shows will be great, and of course, there will be plenty of amazing food to try and games to play too. I'm already craving my Jurassic corndog and a gyro!

Ahead of this year's fair, the Great Jones County Fair Facebook page made an important announcement about what you can and can't bring through the fair gates this year.

The clear bag policy has already been adopted by large-scale events like college and NFL football games. Many concert venues have also gone to this policy too. Now, this year's Great Jones County Fair will require you to adhere to the above bag requirements. All of the above bags will be allowed through the gates at the fair after going through an inspection. This new policy isn't just for concertgoers either. It is for anyone attending the Great Jones County Fair.

If you're coming out to Monticello this week, make sure you know the new rules. Because there is nothing worse than having to walk all the way back to your car because you brought the wrong bag. We'll see you at the fair!
