Every year, the American Association of State Troopers has some light-hearted fun for a cause with a survey of the country's "Best-Looking State Patrol Cruisers". Each state submitted an entry for the contest and the Top 13 would get bragging rights and a page in their 2023 (and January '24) calendar.

Unfortunately, Iowa's sleek but straightforward patrol car did not make the final cut, perhaps not being "flashy" enough. The winner for the second straight year was the Kentucky State Police (car seen above). Not a bad-looking ride, but clearly they might have tipped the scales in their favor with the background of a horse farm. One midwest neighbor made the calendar, making it quite obvious that background played a role.

Nebraska?? That really hurts. But at least we still have better sports teams. In all seriousness, while the poll was held in good fun, we appreciate the courage and bravery of the men and women driving these cars and trucks day and night to protect their communities and states, even if many of them outdo the simple yet practical look of the Iowa State Patrol entry seen below.
