In the last week, we saw two different farm accidents.

Last Sunday, October 2nd, a man was killed in a tractor rollover accident in Dubuque County. Then on Monday, October 3rd, one person passed away in an accident in Poweshiek County after a semi-truck hit a grain wagon while traveling northbound on Highway V18.

On Saturday, a Cedar Rapids barn was engulfed in fire.

According to an article in KCRG, Cedar Rapids Fire Department along with other emergency responders responded to a fire call at 11:22 am Saturday. The barn is located at 5511 Tower Terrace Road NE. The fire was reported by a person that lives near the barn. By the time firefighters arrived at the scene of the fire, much of that barn had caught on fire.

The KCRG article goes on to say that firefighters and a nearby heavy equipment operator worked together to extinguish the flames. The homeowner was able to rescue the pet that was inside the barn before the flames became too widespread.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
