A grocer located here in Iowa is going through a not-so-sweet recall affecting the snack closet.

A voluntary recall was announced on June 30th due to the potential presence of hard plastic pieces in the products says an FDA announcement. This week, Enjoy Life Natural Brands LLC announced they are expanding the recall to include more of their cookies.

The recall is for a variety of the Enjoy Life- Soft Bake Cookies, = Chewy Bars, Baked Fruit, and Oat Breakfast Ovals, Brownie Bites, and also includes Trader Joe’s Soft Baked Snickerdoodle Cookies.  The cookies are sold throughout the United States and can be purchased online.

If you have purchased any of these cookies, the FDA says you should call 1-855-543-5335 to get more information on the recall and to learn how you could get a refund.

This isn’t the only recall you should be looking out for.

Natural Grocers is undergoing their own recall with their 1-pound Organic Amaranth Grain. However, instead of plastic is the culprit, and this recall is due to potential salmonella contamination.

This recall was called when the company’s supplier notified them saying there was a presence of salmonella in specific lots of their Organic Amaranth.

This recall is a lot smaller than the cookie recall only affecting products that are labeled with the Packed-on Dates of 22-102, 22-103, 22-130, and 22-194.

This product was distributed to Natural Grocer stores in Iowa as well as Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
