There's something special about this time of year. The holidays are here. For many of us, myself included, watching The Wizard of Oz was a holiday tradition.

Now, the incredibly popular music Wicked has a smash-hit film version that is officially in theaters.

With more time off for many during the holidays, maybe you and your family are planning to go? If so... the film comes with a warning. Not about the content in the film, but conduct in the theater.

Because the film version of Wicked is a faithful, musically anyways, rendition of the Broadway show, most die-hard fans know all of the words to every song.

That's all well and good, but now you're officially being asked not to sing along...

They say silence is golden, and AMC Theaters is sticking to that. They issued a warning telling patrons to keep the singing limited to their car ride to or from the hit film.

While it may seem a tad crass, in all honesty, I can see why. Who wants to drop $80 to take their family to a movie, plus snacks and pop, and then be unable to hear the professionals belt out the legendary tunes from the musical?

Even if you don't see the film at an AMC Theater, it's likely still a policy most theaters would like to have enforced. After all, as great as we all think we are at singing, it's unlikely we're better than Cynthia Erivo or Ariana Grande.

Wicked is being split into two parts. Part One is out now, and has earned unanimous critical praise. Wicked Part Two will be released on November 21, 2025.
