Many northeast Iowans will hear tornado sirens in their community on Wednesday.

As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, the Storm Prediction Center will issue a test tornado watch for all 99 counties in Iowa, starting at 10 AM and continuing until 11 AM.

At 10:15 AM, communities that take part in the exercise will sound their tornado warning sirens.

A severe weather statement will be issued at 10:35 AM, canceling the Tornado warning test.

The test tornado watch drill will end at 11 AM.

Each day this week, the National Weather Service has designated a severe weather phenomenon, such as lightning, hail, and flash flooding.

During Wednesday's test tornado warning, residents are urged to think about their course of action, should a real threat develops.
