It's been a wild ride for the Hawkeyes Men's Basketball team. Finishing the year at 20-11 the men have secured a spot in the NCAA tourney as a 6. seed and will most likely  square off with then 11th seeded UCLA Bruins. But before we get to that, we have to acknowledge the success of one player.

Center, Luka Garza who stands 6'11", had an outstanding season. Averaging a near 24 points per game and 10 rebounds, Garza locked himself in as the the winner of the Big Ten Player Of the Year. Garza was humble when asked about what this award means saying " To win an award like this in a league like this against the quality of big men top to bottom makes this a real honor. I signed up to play in the Big Ten because I wanted to play against the best, that’s what we have done. I am thankful to be at the University of Iowa".

The tourney isn't set just yet, as the Big Ten Tournament has yet to be played. Iowa squares off with the winner of the Minnesota/Northwestern game this coming Thursday. WHOtv.com has the full story.
