How Much Bonus Was Paid To Your Favorite NFL Player Last Season?
The NFL Management Council released the bonus information for each team in the 2020 season. It's 61 pages containing every player's bonus amount. Some are ridiculously low, like Houston backup A.J. McCarron, who played 2 snaps, and received an extra $316.00 for his trouble.
Still others can make up a huge part of a players' earnings. The highest bonus amount for players was in the $600,000 range, like Cardinals Tackle Kelvin Beachum. There's a Buccaneer on the list who also made over $600,000 in bonus money, but I'll let you browse the list yourself to find out who.
This list doesn't seem to include signing bonus money, just for on-field play. But it is cool to find players you're a fan of (Or hate...Aaron Rodgers...ahem) and see what was added to their seasons end paycheck.
Former Hawkeyes George Kittle (San Fran) made almost $40,000, and rookie Tackle Tristan Wirfs collected $230,000. And that Superbowl ring, too!
Illinois State rookie Running Back James Robinson made $295,000 in bonuses this season. For a kid coming out of the MAC conference, that's a huge impact. His salary is probably in the $600,000 range, so his bonus was quite substantial.
Former Bears QB (I LOVE saying that!) Mitchell Trubisky got $37k and some change. You can pick that up when you're cleaning out your locker, pal.
Current Green Bay QB (I HATE saying that!) Aaron Rodgers scooped up about $28,000. Maybe if he had thrown an extra touchdown and made it into the Superbowl it would have been more??
