Singer Richard Page was born in Keokuk! You might know him as the lead singer of "Mr. Mister" who had a few big hits in the '80s, the biggest being this one.

You're ahead of me if you already knew he was from here.

Legend has it that he was also offered the gig as lead singer for Chicago after Peter Cetera left.

They ended up picking Jason Scheff, Page continued with Mr. Mister, and they all seemingly lived happily ever after. Not much is known about his time in Keokuk, except that it was short-lived. He and his family left the Hawkeye state for the bright lights of California when he was six years old.

Page has lived in "semi-retirement" in Los Angeles, being more of a songwriter than a performer, doing some surfing, and being a family man with his wife and kids, according to last.fm. We can still add him to the list of famous people who made their home or made a stop in Iowa, however briefly.
