According to a new report, and yes they funded and did all the research themselves, Forbes.com is saying that Iowa is sucky for innovation.

Ok, so I didn't read the entire article and have no clue what the first page or two even says. I literally just sprang into 'find Iowa' mode. I glanced, kind of, at the top 10 most innovative states, desperately searching for our beloved state in that list somewhere. Nope.....not even close.

I then jumped to the least innovative. Which wasn't hard since the article basically takes you from one to the other without even having you question what's going on. How innovative of Forbes.con...or com...sorry. That's when I found Iowa.

The article did have a few nice things to say, like we rank high in 'industry cluster strength' which sounds made up anyway, and our eighth grade math and science scores are higher than the national average. Well thanks sooooo much Forbes.com.

I think they forgot one massive thing. WE FEED THE F'N WORLD WITH OUR AGRICULTURE WHICH IS OUR MAIN INDUSTRY AND WAY MORE INNOVATIVE THAN ALMOST EVERY OTHER INDUSTRY.

So to the wonderful author of the article, who I will not say out loud, but I'll give it to you here since that's typing and not speaking, Laura Begley Bloom...Come on Lady!!! Iowa isn't what you think it is!!! We are very innovative and have lots to offer. Come and visit and we'll make sure to show you. In fact, we'll even let you stay with us and show you what innovation and hard work look like.

And, just so she doesn't think we're slamming her work, we love your articles and think you're a fantastic person!!! :)
