Florida Man Uses GPS Tracker to Rekindle Love – Gets Arrested For Stalking
A Florida man was arrested this week after allegedly going to extreme (and illegal) lengths to rekindle a brief romantic fling from years ago.
Seems Like a Case of Love... and GPS Stalking
Tyler Michael Strack, 22, a Chipotle worker from Clearwater, is accused of placing a GPS tracking device on a woman's car, presumably in an attempt to engineer a chance meeting. Unfortunately for Strack, his efforts to "run into" the woman did not go as planned—and neither did his attempt at romance.

According to a criminal complaint, Strack purchased a Cube brand GPS tracker from Best Buy, then discreetly installed it on the woman’s vehicle. Investigators allege that he hoped to use the tracker to follow her movements, orchestrating a "coincidental" encounter, a plot straight out of a bad romantic comedy—except this one has felony charges.
The woman discovered the device last year and promptly contacted the authorities. Investigators used subpoenas to trace the tracker’s purchase to Strack, linking the device to his email address. When questioned, Strack reportedly admitted to installing the device in a bid to "run into" the woman again, explaining the whole thing was an attempt to restart a relationship that had ended years ago.

Strack was arrested on a felony charge of stalking. The Clearwater resident was booked into the county jail but posted a $5,000 bond early the following morning. His previous run-ins with the law were limited to traffic infractions like careless driving and expired registration—no history of "following" people around before this incident.
