Five area residents have been injured in a traffic accident involving three vehicles in Butler County.


It happened just before 5pm Tuesday (Jan. 24) on Highway 3 in Shell Rock.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, an eastbound pickup driven by 54 year old Donette Johnson of Mount Vernon, went out of control, crossing the center line and colliding with a van driven by 78 year old Robert hoodjer of Allison, and a vehicle driven by 38 year old William Filippo of Waterloo.

All three drivers were injured, as well as 2 passengers: 82 year old Robert Rule and 79 year old Connie Rule, both of Allison.

All 5 of the victims were taken to the Waverly hospital for treatment.
