A semi loaded with hogs overturned in Northeast Iowa, losing only a small portion of it's cargo.
At about 7:30pm Monday (Jan. 16), the Fayette County Sheriff's Office was alerted of a semi in the ditch on it's side, on 306th Street near Vine Road, north of Waucoma.

A semi loaded with hogs and driven by 45 year old Joshua Brood of Plainfield, was in the process of making a turn at the intersection, when the truck went out of control due to the weather conditions.

The semi and it's trailer entered a ditch and tipped over onto it's side. The driver was not hurt, and only 3 hogs out of the 160 in the trailer, died.

The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the Waucoma Fire Department.
