February 2016 New Music Releases
The world of rock is finally emerging from its long winter's nap, as a quick spin through our list of February 2016 new music releases shows.
So we have a new album from Elton John, his first since 2013's The Diving Board. And Alice Cooper sitting in for a symphonic reading of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. The Cult are back, too, after some time spent in the studio. February also gives us another opportunity to dig more deeply into the vast musical heritage of Johnny Winter and the Grateful Dead.
You can get yourself ready for the upcoming Guns N' Roses reunion with the DVD release of Slash's Raised on the Sunset Strip. Or return to other signature live performances from Bruce Springsteen and Crosby, Stills and Nash. (The latter was a fun show that saw Joe Walsh stopping by for a visit.)
Last in Line, a group of Dio vets, release their first original studio album this month, while Peter Frampton goes acoustic. Anthrax have new stuff coming, too, as we remember George Harrison on a guest-packed night that featured Brian Wilson, Heart's Ann Wilson and many others. Phil Collins also continues his series of expanded solo reissues.
More information on these and other classic-rock releases can be found below. And remember to look at our updated list of 2016 New Music Releases for details on music issued throughout the year.
