An Oelwein man faces a list of charges after leading Fayette County authorities on a pursuit early Monday.

Anthony Copley, 32, was arrested for eluding, reckless driving, failure to maintain control, interference with official acts, littering, and failure to obey a traffic control device. According to sheriff's officials, Copley was also wanted on outstanding arrest warrants from Fayette and Buchanan Counties

According to sheriff's officials, deputy tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near Oelwein around 1:30 AM. The driver refused to pull over and led the deputy on a short chase, which ended when the vehicle went out of control and entered a ditch northeast of the city.

Copley was taken to the Fayette County Jail in West Union.
