The City of Waterloo mask mandate resolution effective on Monday, August 17, 2020
The mask resolution requires people to wear masks who aren't able maintain social distance of six feet in a public setting, which also includes businesses, city buildings, public transportation and ride sharing. The mandate doesn't apply when people are alone, with household members, traveling in a personal vehicle. Other exemptions include exercising, obtaining services that require temporarily removing the mask, and eating or drinking at establishments. Children under 2-years old and people with certain medical conditions are also exempt.
