Escaped Man from Prairie View, Caught, Damages Van

A Dubuque man faces charges after escaping from the Prairie View Residential Facility near Fayette, then causing damage to a vehicle that was sent out to get him.

Fayette County sheriff's officials got a report from Prairie View staff that Alan Sarazin, 57, originally from Dubuque, had left the facility around 2 PM on Friday (Aug. 10, 2018).

When facility staff were sent out to get him, he kicked the 2016 Dodge Caravan that the employee had been driving, putting a dent in the door.

The van is owned by Prairie View.

Sarazin was taken into custody and charged with fifth-degree criminal mischief.
