Escaped Convict Came Out Of Hiding To Buy ‘Call of Duty’
A fugitive armed robber got busted and found himself back in prison to buy the newest 'Call of Duty' game.
Clint Butler escaped from HM Prison Spring Hill while he was serving a 17-year sentence for crimes of robbery and firearms offenses.
He's been wanted by police since his escape on November 28th, and wasn't caught until the poor decision he made on January 13th to go into town during lockdown to buy a video game.
Two officers were patrolling the area and saw Butler and a friend walking down the street, changing directions immediately upon seeing the officers.
Officers Mark Owen and Allison Brown stopped the two to ask what their trip into town was for during the lockdown to see if it was essential, to which Butler's friend said "I've come to get the new Call Of Duty because I can't sit around in lockdown.
Officer Owen then asked for their information, which was when Butler kicked him in the groin, sparking a scuffle between the two officers and him. As they called for backup, Butler punched Brown in the face.
On top of his original sentence, he's had an extra 18 months added on for assaulting the officers and escaping from prison.
"Quite why he decided to risk being returned to prison by making the idiotic decision to come into town during lockdown with a friend to buy a video game will remain a bit of a mystery," Superintendent Nick Rowe of West Midlands Police said.
The dunces should've realized everything is digital now, and they should've just downloaded it. Then again, if he were smart, he wouldn't have been in jail in the first place.
