Drunk Florida Man Picks Kid Up From Daycare, Forgot He Did

A Florida Man is facing child neglect and DUI charges after an incident Friday with his stepchild.

Police in Palatka, Florida, about halfway between Jacksonville and Orlando, said Reginal Horner picked up the kid from God's Little Creations Day Care.

It wasn't a concern until he returned a short time later, looking to pick up the kid, and told workers he didn't take the kid yet, so he didn't know where he was.

Officers said Horner was showing signs of being intoxicated, so the day care facility called the police.

A missing child investigation was launched, and that was when police discovered that Horner took the kid to a business and forgot him there. Police found the child in short time, who was okay and uninjured.

Officers returned the child to his mother, and Horner was arrested.

An investigation is also underway with the Department of Children and Families.
