Driver Charged After Sliding into Area Ditch

An Elgin motorist is being charged with causing a one-vehicle accident in Fayette County.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, shortly after 7am Sunday (March 12), 19 year old Madeline Trumm was driving east on Golden Road, west of Elgin. Trumm's vehicle crossed the center line of the road; she overcorrected the steering, which caused the vehicle to spin and enter a ditch.

Trumm was not hurt, but she was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

Her 2002 GMC Envoy had $2,000 worth of damage.
