Denver Man Killed In North-Central Iowa Accident
A Denver man was one of two people killed when a car and semi collided at an intersection in north-central Iowa Friday afternoon (Dec. 7, 2018).
The Iowa State Patrol said Kyle Briggs, 24, died at the scene. The other victim was Christine Price, 48, of Rolfe, a passenger in Briggs' car who died later at a hospital in nearby Pocahontas.
According to an accident report, the crash two other passengers Brigg's vehicle. Elyjah Aden, 19, of Rolfe, was flown to a Des Moines hospital for treatment, and John Price, 47, of Rolfe, was transported by ambulance to a care facility in Emmetsburg. The extent of their injuries wasn't released.
The accident happened at the intersection of Iowa Highway 4 and Pocahontas County Road C-15, about three miles west of Plover just before 3:30 PM Friday. Authorities said Briggs' eastbound car failed to halt at a stop sign and collided with a southbound semi tractor-trailer, driven by Ryan Larson, 21, of Armstrong.
Larson wasn't injured, the Iowa State Patrol said.
