The Hawkeye Community College Redtails women's soccer team begins its bid for a conference championship this weekend.

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference officiallly announced the teams that qualified for the ICCAC 2017 Women's Soccer Championship Tournament. Hawkeye's lady Redtails qualified as the fifth seed.

The Region XI Tournament field has Iowa Western of Council Bluffs as the top seed, followed by Indian Hills of Ottumwa. Both teams earned a first-round bye. The rest of the teams include: #3-seed Iowa Central Fort Dodge, #4 Northeast of Norfolk, Neb., #5 Hawkeye CC of Waterloo and #6 Iowa Lakes of Estherville.

The Redtails (8-6-1 overall, 3-4-1 ICCAC) will travel to Norfolk, Neb.,  to take on the Hawks of Northeast CC (11-5-0 overall, 5-3-0 conf.). The game is set for Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM. The winner will advance to the semifinals and travel to Ottumwa to play Indian Hills CC (11-2-2 overall, 7-1-0 ICCAC) on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 2:00 PM.
