The UNI Panthers scored a 55-52 road victory over Missouri State Sunday afternoon (Feb. 12, 2017).

The Panthers (13-12 overall, 8-6 MVC) have won eight of their last nine games. They now have sole possession of third place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings after starting league play 0-5.

UNI was led by Jeremy Morgan's 18 points and a career-high tying five three-pointers. Hunter Rhodes came off the bench and contributed eight points and four assists.

Missouri State (15-12 overall, 6-8 MVC) was led in scoring by Dequon Miller and Jarred Dixon with 12 points apiece.

The Panthers closed the first half by making six consecutive shots and then drained three straight to begin the second half. The nine-straight makes turned a 20-11 deficit into a 35-30 lead with 18:34 left in the game.

Missouri State had a chance to tie on the final possession of the game but Ryan Kreklow could not get a shot off as the buzzer sounded.

UP NEXT: UNI will return home to play the Bradley Braves Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the McLeod Center. It is a Black Out and fans are encouraged to wear black on Wednesday (Feb. 15).
